Abstract Submissions 2026 are now open

The Australasian Dermatopathology Society Organising Committee invites the submission of abstracts of original work under the categories of Brenan Prize or Clinicopathological Gems.

Key dates

  • Abstract submission open: now open

  • Abstract submission deadline: Thursday 18 June 2026, 5pm AEST

  • Author notification: Monday 20 July 2026


Brenan Prize

The Brenan Prize is specifically for accredited registrars in Dermatology or Pathology training in Australia or New Zealand registered for the meeting. Presenters of the Prize will receive an oral presentation of up to 10 minutes within the Scientific Program.

There will be Brenan Prizes in two categories, each will be awarded AU$500:

  • Category A: For the most outstanding skin case presentation with emphasis on clinicopathological correlation.

  • Category B: For a research-oriented presentation, e.g. a case series. The emphasis should be on clinicopathological features or the importance of the research to pathology or dermatology.

Please make clear which category you are entering.


Clinicopathological Gems

The Clinicopathological Gems category is open to any registered attendees (not limited to trainees). Presenters of the Prize will receive an oral presentation of up to 10 minutes within the Scientific Program.

Prize: The presentation determined to be the most outstanding or best delivered will receive a prize of AU$500.


General policies and requirements

  • All abstracts must contain original work of the presenting author(s).

  • Abstracts must be submitted to the Meeting Managers via the ADS 2026 Abstract portal by the submission deadline.

  • Abstracts will not be accepted via fax, email, mail, or USB/CD.

  • All fields on the online abstract submission form must be completed.

  • Acceptance of abstracts for presentation at the Meeting will be based on committee selection.

  • Authors are welcome to submit more than one abstract, but the organisers reserve the right to accept none or any number of the submitted abstracts.

  • All presenting authors will be required to register and pay for the Meeting by the author registration deadline to ensure their abstracts are included in the final program.

  • It is the responsibility of the submitting author to ensure that the abstract is submitted correctly.

  • After an author has submitted their abstract, they must check their submission to ensure the document has been uploaded correctly. Authors can check their submission by clicking on the viewing option in the submission form. Authors can log back into their accounts to amend their abstract submission up until the closing date of the submission deadline.

The Meeting Managers will not be held responsible for abstract submissions not received via the website or for submission errors caused by internet service outages or other issues.
