SUBMISSION CATEGORIES

This year the 44th Australasian Dermatopathology Society Annual Scientific Meeting will be a joint meeting with the International Society of Dermatopathology’s XLIII Symposium. The Organising Committee invites the submission of abstracts of original work under the categories of Brenan Prize or Clinicopathological Gems.

1)   Brenan Prize

Accredited registrars in Dermatology or Pathology are encouraged to make a presentation related to dermatopathology at the ADS 2024 Meeting. The only persons who are eligible to enter and win the Brenan Prize are trainees in Dermatology or Pathology who are accredited for their training as specialist dermatologists or pathologists in Australia or New Zealand.

  • Presentations will be up to 10 minutes depending on the number of entrants. The timing for presentations will be advised well before the presentation.

  • There will be Brenan Prizes in two categories:

    • Category 1: AU$500 for the most outstanding skin case presentation with emphasis on clinicopathological correlation.

    • Category 2: AU$500 for a research-oriented presentation, e.g. case series. The emphasis should be on clinicopathological features in a skin-related condition.

Please make clear which category you are entering.

2)   Clinicopathological Gems

All registrants are invited to participate in this popular segment, giving a short presentation on an illustrative case or cases they have encountered.

  • Presentations will be up to 5 minutes depending on the number of entrants.

  • The presentation judged to be the most meritorious and/or best presented will receive a prize of AU$500.

All submissions will be reviewed by an abstract submission panel and author notifications are scheduled for June 2024.
